Gaia and Nanook finished painting a sensitive new design on the front of a locksmith’s shop in Buenos Aires a couple of weeks ago. It features an African American with a sunset lodged in his memory as a reference to the slave trade and Argentina’s tragic past.
Gaia and Nanook have finished their mural at Meeting of Styles 2012 in Buenos Aires on the front of the GHELCO ice cream factory. The design has been carefully created after consultation with the workers and management who have run the factory as a cooperative since 2002. Continue reading →
Gaia has been painting an eye-catching and sensitive new intervention with Nanook on the front of an ice cream factory in Barracas, Buenos Aires. In an exclusive interview, the New Yorker and Baltimore-based street artist, who is in Argentina for Meeting of Styles 2012, told us about the concepts behind his latest design and how his interventions relate specifically to their location and the people who live and work there.
