This portrait of Argentina’s World Cup-winning captain was painted by Maxi at a housing complex in Ushuaia. The artwork was one of 10 murals painted as part of the 4th Encuentro de Muralistas de Ushuaia (EMUSH2023) and was organised by the Secretary of Culture and Education of the Government of Ushuaia.

It’s one of a number of eye-catching portraits that Maxi has painted of Messi since Argentina won its third World Cup trophy in December 2022.

Maxi is well-known for painting realistic portraits of Diego Maradona and also for painting a mural of Lionel Messi in Palermo, Buenos Aires and also in Miami, Florida.
