Argentine artists Alaniz and Luana Bouso have painted a new mural of Jorge Luis Borges in San Telmo. Photos by Buenos Aires Street Art.

The new mural is entitled ‘El oro de los tigres’ or ‘Tigers’ Gold’ and named after a poem by Jorge Luis Borges who is regarded as one of Argentina’s best and most loved writers and poets. Borges’ best-known works include some of his collections of short stories called ‘Ficciones’ (‘Fictions’) and ‘El Aleph’ (‘The Aleph’).

The new mural has been painted on the wall of an antiques shop in San Telmo and also includes a smaller artwork with an hour glass.

The duo have also painted a new mural in Palermo dedicated to Argentine singer-songwriter and guitarist Atahualpa Yupanqui.

The mural also includes a second portrait of Atahualpa Yupanqui playing the guitar and a thistle. He is regarded as one of the most important Argentine folklore musicians of the 20th century.
