Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada has been in Buenos Aires and has finished a huge new mural in San Telmo. It features a giant portrait of a local boy.
It’s the second time the Cuban-born artist has been to Buenos Aires to paint in the street. This mural is entitled “David” and depicts an 11-year-old boy who is a student at the Isauro Arancibia Education Center, a school especially for children living in poverty. The school is being threatened with demolition to make room for a new bus route, and Rodriguez-Gerada created the artwork to draw attention to the work Isauro Arancibia Education Center does for the local community.
Rodriguez-Gerada has created huge portraits all over the world using natural materials such as charcoal and earth.
The new mural finished last week is located on the corner of Tacuari and Venezuela.
