Alfredo Segatori has started painting a new portrait of Argentina’s most famous tango singer Carlos Gardel in Palermo. It’s one of a series of famous tango musicians that the muralist more affectionately known as ‘Pelado’ has painted around Buenos Aires.
Gardel was a big fan of horse racing and frequently went to the Hipodromo in Buenos Aires and the new portrait of the ‘Songthrush’ (El Zorzal) forms part of a larger mural that Pelado is painting near to the racetrack in Palermo at Avenida del Libertador & Avenida Dorrego.
Pelado also painted a newspaper kiosk on the historic street corner last year. More photos
