Fangio is Argentina’s greatest Formula One driver, winning the Formula One World Championship five time in 1951, 1954, 1956 and 1957. He achieved those victories driving for four different teams: Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, and Maserati. The portrait of ‘El Maestro’ (meaning ‘The Master’) painted by the Buenos Aires-based artist features him with helmet and racing goggles.

This section of the mural (above) features a racing track with Fangio’s car doing laps. In 1950 in Pescara, Italy, while descending a long straight called the Flying Kilometer, Fangio reached a world record speed of 310 kmh (190 mph) in his Alfa Romeo.

Causi’s mural has been painted on the side of a parking garage in San Telmo and has given the building a totally new look. Also included are some cool details with aerosol featuring clouds and smoke coming out of Fangio’s racing car.

Causi has also painted a striking portrait of popular Argentine actor Ricardo Darin as John Salvo from the science fiction comic strip El Eternauta. The comic book stories were written by Héctor Germán Oesterheld and illustrated by Francisco Solano López in 1957; and they tell the story of a group of Argentinians who survive an alien invasion in Buenos Aires.
