Today is the birthday of one of Argentina’s most famous writers Julio Cortázar who was born on 26 August 1914. His most famous works include Hopscotch, Bestiario and Blow-up and Other Stories. Street art remembering him can be found all over Buenos Aires.

In honour of one of its most illustrious former residents, a bridge in La Paternal is named after him and you can find plenty of stencils of him in the neighbourhood too. The famous square in Palermo also known as Plaza Serrano is named after him too.
