La Plata, the provincial capital of Buenos Aires, will be hosting its first Latin American graffiti meeting on 12th, 13th and 14th October. Street artists from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela will be staying in La Plata and painting some huge walls around the city as part of the Zig Zag festival.
The artists will be getting together on the evening of Friday 12th October with the painting action starting the following day. The event will also include different artistic disciplines such as dance, photography, illustration, theatre, painting and music with the main activities being held on Sunday 14th at Olga Vázquez Social and Cultural Centre (Centro Social y Cultural Olga Vázquez) along street 60 between 10 and 11 (calle 60 entre 10 y 11).
La Plata is only a 35 minute coach ride from Retiro bus station located at Plaza San Martin in the city of Buenos Aires. The ticket office can be found to the right at the top of the escalator inside the bus terminal building and buses leave from Retiro to La Plata bus station roughly every 10 or 15 minutes throughout the day. As well as the famous cathedral and Natural History Museum there are also plenty of tourist attractions in La Plata and places to stay.
